The Yellow Brick Road is a program that uses the arts specifically for therapeutic interventions with young people in schools/ colleges, organizations, and institutions. This is not the same as art classes as the intention is to work therapeutically. Participant/s can explore emotional, relational wellbeing as well as difficult and challenging aspects that are alive for them at the moment. These sessions can benefit individuals challenged with behavioral difficulties and mental health concerns.

No prior experience is required, just an openness to wonder together!

CAT Program at Buguri Community Libraries
In 2018, the Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) program was set up at the Buguri community library which is part of the Children's program initiated by Hasiru Dala, Bangalore. The program looks at offering a safe space for children from marginalised and disadvantaged communities to creatively explore the arts- drama, movement, visual arts, and play,  therapeutically. Over the last three years, participants have explored themes such as gender and sexuality, understanding and managing emotions, friendship, building strength and resilience, and dealing with adverse issues within the community violence. Towards the end of an intervention phase, groups have showcased their learnings through drama and dance performances, painting exhibitions, cooking at tuck shops and have also released two books- Oota Aayutha and Aye Reena.
